Virtual Continuing Education: A New Landscape: 1031 Exchanges and Tax Reform

About

This virtual class will provide a good overview of 1031 like-kind exchanges, their benefit and requirements of a successful exchange. After concerns that Section 1031 would be repealed as part of tax reform, the course will review the impact of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and the challenges and opportunities it has created for real estate investors.

Upon completion, participants will be able to:

  1. Recognize the opportunity to suggest 1031 exchanges to their clients when their situation warrants it.
  2. Feel comfortable discussing 1031 exchanges with their clients because they understand the basic requirements of a successful exchange.
  3. Understand how Section 1031 was impacted by the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and its problems and opportunities.
